4. SMS & Text Messaging

Program description: American Microelectronics uses SMS text messaging solely to respond to and communicate about inquiries you initiate — your Request for Quote (RFQ) or Excess Inventory submissions. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

Consent: We obtain your consent to send SMS text messages through an opt-in checkbox on our RFQ and Excess Inventory forms. When you provide a phone number, you must check the box confirming that you agree to receive text messages from American Microelectronics regarding your inquiry. Providing a phone number and giving SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of receiving a quote or doing business with us — you can complete any form using email contact only.

Types of messages you may receive: Conversational and transactional messages related to your inquiry only — quote responses, availability and pricing updates, requests for clarification, testing results, and shipping or delivery updates.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your inquiry activity.

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates apply to all SMS communications. American Microelectronics does not charge you for text messages.

How to opt out: You can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. After you send STOP, we will send you one final confirmation message and will not send you any additional SMS messages. If you later want to receive texts again, reply START or contact us.

Suppliers: When sourcing hard-to-find parts, we may share part specifications (but not your identifying contact information) with our supplier network.
Legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Service providers: We use third-party services (email hosting, SMS platform, web hosting) that may process information on our behalf. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.

SMS consent data is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain form submissions and business records as long as necessary to conduct our business relationship with you and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements. This typically means:

Active inquiries: retained during the active quote and purchase process
Completed transactions: retained for at least 7 years for tax and regulatory compliance
SMS opt-in records: retained as long as you remain opted in, plus 3 years after opt-out for compliance verification
Testing chain of custody: retained in line with our laboratories' AS6081/AS6171 and DFARS recordkeeping requirements (up to 10 years for defense-related parts)

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data submitted through this website, restricted access to submission records, and secure storage of business communications. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
