How STMicroelectronics MCU Allocation Is Reshaping BOMs
STMicroelectronics MCU lead times have reportedly stretched past 55 weeks during the current allocation cycle. Industrial and automotive designs locked to specific STM32 part numbers face a hard choice: redesign around an alternative, or source through the open market. STM32F, STM32L, STM32G, and STM32H families have all seen extended lead times during 2026, with no broad relief expected before mid-2027. The constraint is mature-node wafer capacity — fabs are prioritizing higher-margin AI and HBM-supporting production, and 90nm/180nm capacity that STM32 parts depend on isn't expanding.
